Weight Loss Medications like Wegovy and Ozempic lead to digestion-associated side effects. Common side effects are vomiting, nausea, stomach pain, and diarrhea. The typical dosage of Ozempic falls in the range of 0.5 mg to 2 mg once a week. In trials, Ozempic side effects were mostly studied at a maximum dosage of 1 mg once a week. That’s because that was the maximum dosage available up until March 2022. Studies of 2 mg showed the side effects were alike (but with a slightly higher occurrence) to those of 1 mg dose.

Wegovy is available at a higher dosage (2.4 mg once a week) than Ozempic. Evaluated 1 mg of Semaglutide, more people taking 2.4 mg reported side effects in medical trials.
